We started with one question: why is it so hard to find toys worth keeping?
Not the kind that break in a week. Not the kind buried under flashing lights and plastic packaging. The kind a child actually reaches for — again and again — because it earns their attention honestly.
That question led us to Weka Kids.
Where we're from
We're based in New Zealand — a small country at the bottom of the world, where children grow up close to nature, and where parents tend to be quietly particular about quality.
New Zealand gave us our name. The weka is a native bird — curious, fearless, endlessly interested in the world around it. We thought that was a pretty good description of every child we've ever met.
But our customers are everywhere. Parents in Tokyo, London, Toronto, and Sydney have all found us — and what they're looking for is the same thing we are: toys that are genuinely good, from a brand they can trust.
What we believe
Children don't need more stuff. They need better stuff.
A toy that lasts five years is worth ten that don't survive the first month. A book that gets read to pieces is worth a shelf full of untouched ones. A plush that becomes a best friend is worth a hundred that end up in donation bins.
We hold every product to one standard: would we give this to our own child? If the answer is anything less than yes, it doesn't make the range.
